Field Drainage Tile

Soil conservation practices such as: drainage tiling, terrace structuring, waterways, and ponds are common methods designed to remove excess water from the soil to enhance crop production.

Giza Contracting can assist in designing and developing a good conservation plan.  Our experts work directly with the owners, land managers or tenants to coordinate all stages of the project.

Developing and maintaining a good conservation plan prevents costly erosion resulting in damages to fields and buffer strips as well minimizing permanent loss of irreplacable topsoil.

As an added bonus, creating a well drained production field allows roots to penetrate deeper during the wetter times of the spring.  Plants with deeper roots are available to ground source moisture in times of summertime drought.  Studies have shown the deeper roots provide enough moisture during droughts to increase yield productions.

Our Field Drainage Tile is installed using highly accurate GPS technology.  This program allows us to precicely survey and map fields, and install tile at accurate grade.  When the project is complete, Giza Contracting provides a detailed color coded GPS map that shows the location, tile size and footages that were installed. These maps are maintained digitally at Giza Contracting so they are always available for additional copies. The digital records assist in planning for future investments to the drainage system and for locating areas for future repair.  These digital maps have shown to increase the value of land more than just installing drainage tile alone.
